Stein Eriksen Lodge, Deer Valley, UT

I’ve stayed at the Stein Eriksen lodge every year for the past several years for a work-related conference and most recently in February 2016. To put it in a nutshell, this is the only conference I look forward to every year because of the property and its location!

The Stein Eriksen Lodge is a Five Star Ski Resort, it is nestled mid-mountain at 8,200 ft and sports incredible views of the mountains of Deer Valley and is minutes away from the Historic Main Street in Park City. The lodge’s architecture is Norwegian-style with a rustic feel. I stayed at a one-bedroom Lodge Luxury Suite and was very happy with my accommodation.

The lodge is an ideal resort to stay in for beginner skiers as it is ski-in/ski-out and situated right on two easy green ski runs. It is also situated right next to a conveyor belt area for training, next to a ski-lift as well as the Deer Valley ski office on-site to buy lift tickets. The staff at the ski locker are very helpful and will help you get prepared for your ski day and help you take off your gear once you’re done.

The suite I stayed in was 1,200 sq ft, apartment style, with a comfortable one king size bed. The kitchen had an open view to the living room and the living room had glass doors and windows which opened straight to the private deck. The layout of the suite was clearly designed to maximize the open space which it did very well.

I asked for a hot tub which was situated in the private balcony deck, the tub was great for relaxing in the evenings when the temperature plummeted. The room had incredible views of the snowy mountains of Deer Valley which offered some great photography opportunities. My favorite part of the suite was the high ceilings and its sense of openness.

In general, the service at the hotel was on-point, room service came on-time and was delicious, the food at both the restaurant and lounge was fantastic, be sure to not miss the Sunday brunch at the Glitretind Restaurant!

Overall, I would strongly recommend the Stein Eriksen Lodge, its top notch service, its stunning setting mid-mountains , its convenience for first time skiers and its feel of being “home away from home” makes this my go to resort in Deer Valley.
